It’s that time of the year again when the ever-interesting, fun-filled, titillating, tantalizing, winter gymnasium sessions are soon to begin. There are two evenings a week available this year, Tuesdays in Cloverdale and Wednesdays in Fleetwood.
Fleetwood sessions begin this Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. at Green Timbers Elementary school, 88th Ave. and 144th St. There is no fee and all you have to provide is soft soled shoes and lots of questions. The sessions are planned to run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and should run for 8 or 9 weeks.
Cloverdale sessions are to start on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. at Don Christian Elementary school at 6256 184th Street. Again, no fee and soft soled shoes please. These sessions will run from 8 p.m. to shortly after 9 and will probably run for 8 or 9 weeks also depending on the weather in March as the last couple of sessions will be planned for Cloverdale Athletic Park.
If you have any questions please call your U.I.C. Arne Austring, 604-536-3354 or e-mail email@example.com
So for those new and newer umpires this is a great opportunity to get out and learn or reinforce some of the basic mechanics, learn positioning and maybe even replay some of those challenging situations. If you have friends that might be interested, bring them along.
Also could you please respond to the above e-mail address or give me a call as to which evening you are planning to attend, as we would like to have some idea of how many umpires we can expect at each venue.
I hope to see you soon!
